John M. Peckham, III, Executive Director of the Real Estate Cyberspace Society released today key excerpts from the latest issue of the Societys bi-monthly audio/print member briefing, Real Estate Cyberspace Alert. The three featured taped interviews -- with Bob Goldberg, Wynne Achatz and a reverse interview with Jack Peckham himself -- share a common focus on the delivery of Internet services, tools and support to boost the productivity and recognition of Real Estate professionals.
In the lead briefing, Bob Goldberg, NARs Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, brings Society Members right to the front line of Cyberspace developments that affect Real Estate today. According to Goldberg the most successful Realtors are utilizing the Internet for business on a daily basis. He tells how they take advantage of the NAR public site Realtor.com, bombarded by 170 million hits by more than two million consumers each month. To back this up the NAR also provides the exclusive, members-only web site, One Realtor Place. "As the Internet continues to link home buyers and sellers electronically with the key stakeholders in the RE industry, transactions will become faster and more streamlined, " Goldberg prophesizes. The Realtor must be prepared to be the key facilitator for the Cyber-transaction process.
The second Alert briefing with Wynne Achatz, Westrick Real Estate One, consistently one of the top-ten franchise agents in her region, bears real-life witness to how traditional RE practices can be transformed with technology. In just two years, the portion of her sales income attributed to her Cyberspace activities has reached 1/3 and is growing by leaps and bounds. She lays out a step-by-step Cyber marketing plan that any agent can follow. "You dont need to be involved in international Real Estate or big commercial deals to make money from the Internet," says Achatz, who lives in a town of 4,000. "The Internet can help you hit a new market. My Internet clients wouldn't have found me otherwise."
In the wrap briefing, publisher and Society member Bob George turned the tables on Alert host Jack Peckham to draw out details on the types of practical assistance available from the Real Estate Cyberspace Society through its 12 main member services.
What makes the Society the fastest growing real estate organization in the world today? "The Society doesnt overlap with other organizations that cover Real Estate basics," Peckham sums up. "It provides strategies to put those basics to work effectively in Cyberspace. By delivering the audio/print briefings, one of the Societys primary services, off line, the Society enables even the Cyber neophyte to get a big head start"
A recent Society poll ranked services most valued by members. Those highly rated include the Real Estate BlackBook CyberDisk and Real Estate Web Navigator, which provide instant navigation to real estate sites and marketing tools on the Internet. "Real Estate Cyber Tips" a free, monthly e-newsletter that members can customize in 5 minutes to distribute to their own e-mail lists also ranked high. He added that "Real Estate CyberSpace Alert" the audio/print briefings were ranked the number one member service for their ability to keep members current in the fast changing real estate CyberWorld.
The goal of the Real Estate Cyberspace Society is to provide information on Real Estate technology issues and strategies, and a common meeting ground for professionals from all aspects of the industry. Peckham invites the Real Estate community and the public to visit and use the Societys virtual office at www.REcyber.com.
