Real Estate CyberSpace Radio (RECR) today released excerpts from their August briefings. In three interviews, Dirk Zeller, Jonathan Cutler and Bernice Ross-all technology experts with practical, real estate experience-focus on timesaving technology solutions to improve business productivity and life balance.
In the lead briefing, Dirk Zeller, who is President of Real Estate Champions and has been recognized as one of the leading agents in North America, shares insights to help real estate practitioners achieve the elusive combination of high production plus life balance. He views agents and other real estate specialists as professionals-like doctors, attorneys and accountants-whose assets are their time and knowledge. He coaches Society members on how to apply technology strategies to maximize their time and expand their knowledge. According to Zeller, "Technology is a big component to create leverage," and leverage is the key to both intensified business success and more free time. He identifies the four key elements of technology that agents should be harnessing for their benefit and explains why his company encourages working as a listing agent over working as a buyer's agent. "Technology is going at a faster pace today than it has ever gone before," says Zeller. "There is a significant challenge for any agent to stay ahead of those changes."
The second briefing is with Jonathan Cutler, CEO of SettlementRoom, who presents a compelling case for transaction management to surge into the forefront of technology used by agents. Cutler discusses the significant advantages that agents gain by using transaction platforms to deliver unsurpassed customer service and satisfaction-while actually spending less time on transactions than through traditional methods. In commenting on the alliance between the Society and Settlement Room to establish Society Trac (SettlementRoom Express software) as a tool for members, he notes: "That's an amazing opportunity that you've offered all your members, and I have to say it's unique in that nobody else is getting this basically for free [with Society membership]." Cutler explains how to use both the Express and expanded versions of the software, which is highly intuitive. He emphasizes that SettlementRoom stands out from its competition because of the combination of product excellence and ease of use.
In the wrap-up briefing, cyber-trainer and professor of psychology Bernice Ross, also CEO of RealEstateCoach.com, clarifies the relationship between technology and real estate: "Connection has always been at the heart of [real estate] success…. A lot of agents think that technology is a substitute for connection, but technology is simply a way to make the connection with people easier and faster." Armed with a variety of specific tips, she tells Society members how to get the greatest marketing benefit from Internet tools. Especially helpful is her identification of the "Seven Deadly Marketing Sins" to avoid-and their remedies. Ross also shares some of her most valuable resources for website features and explains the meaning and importance of "permission marketing."
