Real Estate CyberSpace Radio (RECR) www.REcyber.com today released excerpts from their June briefings. In three interviews, Pat Zaby, Gary Nusca and Stuart Siegel direct attention to online strategies and sites that can add value to a real estate practitioner's services.
In the lead briefing, National Technology Trainer Pat Zaby puts the theme for the month right into focus: "There is no doubt that the Internet is right for Real Estate….The vehicle is perfect because people can get unlimited information with contained cost!" Zaby advises listeners on ways to use the Internet for improved productivity, starting with the most powerful and most underused online tool-e-mail. He suggests the best software, strategies for maximizing lists and other moneymaking tips. He also explains the two key criteria for a successful web site. Zaby's extensive personal experience in both the residential and commercial facets of the industry plus his national exposure as a lecturer and trainer give him an excellent perspective on real estate issues and trends. One hot issue he broaches with the Society is the NAR's new regulation on broker reciprocity.
The second briefing is with Gary Nusca, an active CCIM in Canada and president of ICIWorld.net, who gives a Canadian perception of real estate's technological evolution. He makes the point that Canada is "tops in the world in the delivery of information and services to its citizens via the Internet". His company, which expanded locally, regionally, nationally and now provides services worldwide, illustrates that online reach truly makes global practice real. In explaining his company's contribution to the aggregation of listings, Nusca encourages real estate practitioners from all specialties to view their business opportunities in broad terms. "ICIWorld.net makes it possible for [agents] to work open listings that cannot be worked through listing services," he emphasizes. He proceeds to outline the steps to work effectively with open listings. ICIWorld.net provides an interface between consumer and professional; the company builds customized email listservers to support individuals and groups who want to take full advantage of open-listing opportunities.
In the wrap-up briefing, eNeighborhoods' President and CEO Stu Siegel reminds Society members that "real estate is still a people's business" in which professionals provide service to customers. From that perspective, eNeighborhoods aims to be a tool for agents to create value-added output for their customers and to help promote themselves using neighborhood information. He describes the usefulness of such products and services as the One-Minute HomeBook, HomeLog (which can enhance an agent's own web site) and the HomeLog Newsletter. More broadly, Siegel shares his list of must-have products for real estate professionals and his list of favorite web sites to keep himself organized. In joint celebration of eNeighborhoods' recent independence from Homestore and the Society's dedication to practical tech tools, Siegel announced a special, limited free-giveaway of eNeigborhoods software to Society members.
