If you plan to travel in a few months - get ready for a hassle - particularly if you don't have your Real ID firmly in hand - or in your wallet. It's the new driver's license with the little star in the upper right corner. If the star is not there then your license is not Real ID compliant.

If you're going to take a domestic commercial flight any time after Oct 1, 2020, you have to get your act together pretty soon. You'll be able to fly by providing your passport for identification - but who usually caries their passport, -- just another thing to forget when you go out the front door.

So what do you do? Get on down and renew your driver's licenses or state ID early and be sure to check and bring the documents required and opt for the "enhanced" or "compliant" versions. Then, when your next flight comes up, you won't have to turn your house upside down to find your passport - if you have one.

You can sell it - or trade it in for peanuts but, if it's old enough, you may want to think about keeping it and inventing an alternate way of using some of its powers you never thought of before.

For example: you can use it as a walking or driving GPS - or, if not, go out and buy one for $150 plus. You may consider using it as an Apple TV remote. - as an iPod - a security camera - a Web Cam - plus lots of other good stuff.

Maybe you'll keep it and have some fun.
